This interactive learning object started out as a one-page handout for an on-campus course. My role was to recognize the need to transform the instructor's conceptual explanation into an interactive learning object and then to articulate the detailed specifications to the Flash designer.
After trying out this activity, take a look at the original handout from the instructor.

Proctored, web-based final exams are a vital component in the Online Master of Science program in Computer Information Systems at Metropolitan College. Reducing exam-related stress is key to student achievement and satisfaction. In the process of revising the course materials, I opted to rewrite the template our staff was using for proctored exam instructions using a friendly, FAQ-style, question-and-answer format.
Note: The instructions document was originally integrated into the course as a web-page; it has been extracted from the learning management system as a printed document.

This module was created as an assignment in web-based instructional design for a graduate course at Boston University and was selected by the instructor as an exemplar of best practices and it is listed among the sample projects for incoming students in his course.
Note: Per the instructor's preference, the module was not intended to have database implementation nor compatibility with a wide range of browsers and platforms. Unlike other sites in this portfolio, it is only functional in Internet Explorer for Windows.

I coordinated a district-based grant that introduced two new technology tools, a digital video microscope and graphing software, to this group of third graders. These tools enabled them to communicate their data and discoveries more effectively with other schools in a nationwide project.
